Rescue

Kittens 1 and 2 These two little guys were found laying in a paper bag on a cold garage floor in Winchester abandoned by their mother who was not to be seen. A good search was done to find her but to no avail. We took them in on Oct. 14th 2006. They were relatively in good health except for ear mites.

Village Kitten Rescue is committed to rescuing abused, injured, abandoned and feral kittens and provide them with food, warmth and safety.

Kittens that have been ill treated sometimes require more medical treatment than others. We feel that these kittens deserve a special Foster Home for their full recovery.

VKR takes all rescued kittens to the veterinarian at time of rescue where they are scanned for a microchip to see if they have an owner. They are then examined, vaccinated, de-wormed and if old enough, spayed or neutered.

We keep an on-going inventory of all kittens we rescue and are in our care. We keep a record of veterinary appointments, special illnesses and medications, foster homes, and adoptions.

VKR has a "no Kill" policy. No kitten under VKR care shall be euthanized unless it is the final decision made by the veterinarian that the kitten is suffering and cannot be cured.
