A short history of our first two kittens.
In Oct. of 2006, Village
Kittens rescue came to life. The first two kittens that came to us were
Peeper and Peppy, now named Tigger and Simon. These two little guys
came to us at 3 to 4 days old. their body temperature was very low and
they were somewhat de-hydrated. After 72 hours of hard work the two
started to show signs of life. It took another 72 hours to get them
moving about and wanting to nurse, yes nurse. Fran and I took shifts
in nursing the two using a small plastic syringe filled with milk replacement
formula. We continued feeding with the syringe and in their fifth week,
we slowly introduced them to wet kitten food with the milk. They were
not very responsive at first but about two weeks of perseverance they
finally were eating wet food with a bit of help. At 5 weeks they were
litter trained. At 9 weeks they were eating wet food and drinking on
their own. These two kittens at 12 weeks looked like two 5 week old
kittens. Today May 17th 2007, the boy are back for the weekend. They
are now 7 and a half months old. In our shelter we have 3, 4 month old
kittens one of them is large than both Tigger and Simon and the other
two are the same size.
Simon and Tigger now 3 1/2 years old. As you can see we have put on a little weight. We are healthy and still love to play. Today we were intoduced to our new sister Muffy.
Muffy, born 20 March, 2010. I am eight weeks old in this picture.
